Schlosskonzerte Bad Krozingen
The Schlosskonzerte Concerts And Collection of Historical Instruments in Bad Krozingen, Germany The Neumeyer-Junghanns.-Tracey Collection of Authentic Historical Keyboard Instruments comprises 50 Instruments representing the evolution of keyboard instruments within four centuries. The Chateau of Bad Krozingen was chosen in 1974 to house the collection as the ideal place where the historical instruments fit in perfectly with the historical surroundings. The Chateau originally belonged to the Monastry of Saint Blasien. It was erected in 1579 and rebuilt by Johann Caspar Bagnato in the 18 th  century. The rich stucco and the precious décors of the ceremony hall, where the concerts take place, originated in that time. Almost all of the instruments are actually playable. This puts us in the fortunate position to let the audiences of our concerts enjoy the original sound of the instruments, just as the great composers of their time must have experienced it. That is not only a great experience for experts in classical music, but for anyone that wants to enjoy music in its authenticity as well.   At the Chateau Concerts only historical instruments are involved, most often together with string and woodwind instruments or vocals. To make these special instruments accessible to families - and especially children - we organise  concerts accompanied by workshops, where the participants can learn something about the origin of the instruments and even get some hands-on experience with these very special treasures.
